A solution can classified into three types are,
- Saturated solution
- Unsaturated solution
- Supersaturated solution
A saturated solution is the solution that contains maximum quantity of solute dissolved in the solvent. In the given volume of saturated solution amount of solute dissolved in the solvent called solubility. Unsaturated solution is the solution that contains less quantity of solute than saturated solution. Supersaturated solution contains more solute than solute present in the saturated solution.

To explain difference between saturated, unsaturated and supersaturated solution
Saturated solution: The solution in which can dissolve more quantity of solute and adding this solute would not change its aspect. Example: adding sugar into glass of water.
Unsaturated solution: The solution in which cannot added more quantity of solute and adding thus solute would change its aspect. Example: adding olive oil into glass of water.
Supersaturated solution: We added the solute into the solvent it does not dissolve and adding solute would change its aspect. Example: more solids are added into the solvent. It will settle down. The solution turns into saturated solution by heating.
