Question
Chapter 11.10, Problem 11.14CP
Program Plan Intro
Structure:
In C++, the structure is a user-defined data type, which contains different type of elements with different lengths.
- The size of the structure is calculated by the total number of elements which is declared in a structure.
- Structure can be passed as a function argument in the same way as pass any other variable.
- It can also be passed as a reference variable in a function argument.
- A structure can be returned by a function as a structure variable.
- A structure variable can also be defined as a pointer.
Syntax:
Syntax to declare a structure and passing structure as an argument is as follows:
struct struct_name1
{
member definition;
member definition;
…
member definition;
};
struct_name1 *struct_variable;
Pointer:
Pointer will allow the user to indirectly access and manipulate the data available in a variable. A pointer variable will hold the address of the data contents.
- If an asterisk “*” operator is placed before a variable then the variable is referred as a pointer variable.

Write the definition of a pointer to a Rectangle structure.
Assume the following structure declaration exists
struct Rectangle
{
int length;
int width;
};
pointers as Arguments:In the C programming language there is no pass-by-reference syntax to passa variable by reference to a function. Instead a variable is passed by pointer(just to be confusing, sometimes passing by pointer is referred to as pass byreference). This Practice Program asks you to do the same thing as C.Here is the header for a function that takes as input a pointer to an integer:1. void addOne (int ∗ptrNum )Complete the function so it adds one to the integer referenced by ptrNum.Write a main function where an integer variable is defined, give it an initialvalue, call addOne, and output the variable. It should be incremented by 1.
In C++, When an array is passed to a function as a pointer, the function doesn't know the size of the array. List 3 ways to handle this problem.

The computer ‘hides’ the treasure at a random location in a 10x10 matrix. The user guesses the location by entering a row and column values. Guesses in the wrong location will provide clues such as a compass direction or number of squares horizontally or vertically to the treasure. Using the random number generator, display one of the following in the board where the player made their guess: U# Treasure is up ‘#’ on the vertical axis (where # represents an integer number).
