Case summary:
Company H with its significant presence in China, has in the recent years taken several sustainability initiatives. Their traditional costal locations saw influx of migration from inland regions and this took a toll on the social life of the workers. Company H deployed a “Go West” strategy, where they took initiatives to shift their location to interior china which was able to provide a betterment of the human, economic and environmental factors. They were able to overcome logistic challenges by coordinating with the Chinese government. To provide safety to student and temporary workers, they were able to enforce laws that protect the rights of these type of workers.
