To determine:
For what reason the grown person show negligence to get a booster (themselves) shot for pertussis. Why parents unimmunized their children against pertussis and why vaccination is societal.
Case summary:
Jeeyun lived in California. She continuously develops coughing for two weeks, after she returned from New York (went to visit her grandma). Initially, she developed slight fever, sneezing, and runny nose. Later, she noticed that coughing makes her worse. The worse cough makes her ribs (two) to break and urination involuntarily. Soon, she vomited and fainted on the floor. She admitted in hospital, and she diagnosed the cough as pertussis.
(2)
To determine:
Why parents unimmunized their children against pertussis.
Case summary:
The pertussis is also referred as whooping cough, which is caused by a bacteria Bordetella pertussis. Symptoms include, nausea, vomiting, fever, and even severe cough makes the ribs to break. Pertussis is a childhood disease (even it affects the adult). Children are majorly affected by the pertussis. Therefore, the adult may show negligence to get a booster for pertussis.
