Interpretation:

The molar absorption coefficient of the component of biological sample with concentration $0.139{\text{ mmol dm}}^{-3}$ has to be calculated.

Concept introduction:

The Beer-Lambert law states that the intensity of light absorbed by a solution is directly proportional to the concentration of the solution and the path length of that the light has to travel in the solution.  The mathematical expression for Beer-Lambert law is given below.
