Introduction:

HIV-1 virus uses three key enzymes in order to replicate itself; reverse transcriptase to copy the viral RNA into DNA; integrase enzyme to integrate the viral DNA into host’s genome; and protease enzyme that cuts the long proteins into small functional proteins.
