Question
Chapter 10, Problem 20DYB
Summary Introduction
To identify:
The location of both multiunit smooth muscle and single unit smooth muscle and also explain the difference in which each is regulated.
Concept introduction:
Smooth muscle is classified into two groups based on whether the smooth muscle fibers are either stimulated to contract as one unit or independently. Multicellular smooth muscle cells receive stimulation to contract independently whereas contraction in the single unit smooth muscle cells is in a syncytium.
