To explain four-step statistical problem-solving process.
Explanation of Solution
Given:
I) The question of interest: To determine whether external motivation or internal motivation would result in more creative writing from college students.
II) Data collection: The 47 experienced college creative writers were selected and randomly divided into two groups. One group having external motivation other one having internal motivation.
III) Data analysis: The two groups then wrote a poem about laughter that was rated on creativity by 12 judges separately. This was be shown by a dot plot.
IV) Result: The data supports that those writers given intrinsic motivation produced slightly more creative work. Therefore, the group given extrinsic motivation had students writing at lower creativities and the group given intrinsic motivation generally had students writing at greater levels of creativity.
