Expert Solution
Step 1
Metastasis is one of the leading causes of death globally. Throughout tumor development, cancer cells acquire genetic mutations, co-opt their microenvironment, and induce angiogenic germination that may probably cause metastasis.
As the metastatic cascade describes the method whereby aggressive cancer cells leave the first tumor, travel through the blood, and eventually reach distant organs to develop one or many metastases.
And tissue invasion is that the mechanism by that tumor cells expand into near environments
Step 2
Metastatic progression of solid tumors will be divided into 5 major steps:
(1) invasion of the basement membrane and cell migration
(2) trauma into the encompassing vasculature or lymphatic system
(3) survival within the circulation
(4) extravasation from the vasculature to secondary tissue; and eventually
(5) colonization at secondary tumor sites
