After carefully studying generation after generation of cats, a monk living in a High Sierra
retreat found the trait of "pink noses" (N) is dominant while the trait for "grey noses" (n) is
recessive. Susie was a pink-nosed female cat whose father also showed this trait. Susie's
brother, however, had a grey nose. Susie also had two mates in her life. She first mated
with a male cat that resulted in one grey-nosed kitten. After that, she mated with Fred, a
pink-nosed male cat whose father was grey-nosed, and whose mother was purebred for
