The Frankfurt Parliament, dominated by the Middle class, served as an all-German National Assembly in 1848. The Parliament was the first national assembly to be elected democratically. The all-German National Assembly was convened in the Church of St. Paul, where around 800 delegates from different German regions gathered to draft a Constitution.
