What was the importance of the 1935 Wagner Act?
The 1935 Wagner Act is also known as the National Labor Relations Act. The Act is named after Senator Robert R Wagner. The bill cleared both the houses in June 1935 and was signed by President Roosevelt in July 1935. The constitutionality of the Act was upheld by the Supreme Court in the National Labor Relation Board v. Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp. in 1937.
