Before Other Information Let's Get Some Information About the History of the Crusades. Historically, the Crusades were a series of religious wars initiated, supported and sometimes directed by the Latin Church in medieval times. This war was a crusade for the Holy Land. the Christians of Europe waged a war between 1095 and 1291 in Palestine and its capital, Jerusalem, in an attempt to snatch the Church of Christ from the Muslims and take possession of it, called the Crusades. The beginning of the First Crusade resulted in the recovery of Jerusalem in 1099, with dozens of crusades fought. The Crusades took a major hold in the history of Europe. Subsequent crusades were usually led by a king and organized army.
