To prove his point, he requested the operations manager to conduct an experiment for one week and find out if music indeed has an effect on workers’ productivity. Two groups of assembly line workers were randomly assigned to the three music conditions (without music, and with light instrumental). Furthermore, the average productivity of workers during the week prior to the experiment was obtained as baseline data. The following data were reported. Test the null hypothesis that productivity is the same for employees who listen to music and those who do not. Test also the null hypothesis that there is no difference in the productivity of individual workers before and after listening to music while at work. Test both null hypotheses at α = .05.
