The Lookout Hills gravitational slope-deformation feature in Bonne Bay, western Newfoundland is a large volume of rock (up to 8.3 km³), probably the largest in eastern Canada. It has a head scarp that is as high as 130 m, and appears to have moved down slope at least that distance over multiple events during the last 12,000 years. The deformed zone maintains a cliff face that extends >350 m above Bonne Bay. It is uncertain if or when that entire volume, or a portion of it, will fail in the future. On the opposite side of the fiord is the community of Norris Point. The shortest distance from landslide impact to Norris Point is about 3.90 km. What wave height may be experienced at Norris Point if one tenth of the entire volume failed into the water catastrophically? | 1140 m 5.93 m 306 m 114 m
