Decide if you want to do a one-tailed or two-tailed test.
Inverse Normal Distribution
The method used for finding the corresponding z-critical value in a normal distribution using the known probability is said to be an inverse normal distribution. The inverse normal distribution is a continuous probability distribution with a family of two parameters.
Mean, Median, Mode
It is a descriptive summary of a data set. It can be defined by using some of the measures. The central tendencies do not provide information regarding individual data from the dataset. However, they give a summary of the data set. The central tendency or measure of central tendency is a central or typical value for a probability distribution.
Z-Scores
A z-score is a unit of measurement used in statistics to describe the position of a raw score in terms of its distance from the mean, measured with reference to standard deviation from the mean. Z-scores are useful in statistics because they allow comparison between two scores that belong to different normal distributions.

#### Questions and Tasks
**b. Describe the effects of the statin drug on your sample. Do you see any change in the level of cholesterol after taking the drug?**
**c. What is your research question? What are the null and alternative hypotheses? Decide if you want to do a one-tailed or two-tailed test.**
**d. What test? Perform it? What is your critical value?**
**e. Sketch a normal distribution and draw the critical value or values of z.**
**f. What is your conclusion?**
### Explanation of Key Components:
- **Table 9.3** presents the cholesterol levels of 25 different patients after they have taken a new statin drug.
- The mean cholesterol level of the population before taking the drug is noted to be 200.
### Analysis Guidance:
- For question **b**, compare the provided cholesterol levels with the population mean of 200 to infer the drug’s effectiveness.
- For question **c**, define a clear research question such as "Does the new statin drug significantly reduce cholesterol levels?". The null hypothesis (H0) could be "The statin](/v2/_next/image?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcontent.bartleby.com%2Fqna-images%2Fquestion%2F5d7b508a-5ba8-455d-bdd1-d1349baacf5e%2Ff510e34a-4f91-4fe9-a456-2ec13d33078a%2Ftv3wifl_processed.jpeg&w=3840&q=75)
