Discussion . give some evidence.

  • Do you know anyone who had a biopsy done before, what was their experience like?
  • This is the first step taken before sectioning, tissue fixing and staining.  Can you explain the importance of this procedure, why is it done and what is the lab tech looking for?
Expert Solution
Step 1
  • A biopsy is a procedure done for the cytological and histological examination of the internal body parts.  For eg: liver, kidney, bone marrow, etc. One of the relatives had undergone this procedure (liver biopsy) to detect any abnormality in the hepatocytes. She was really worried before the procedure and mainly about the biopsy needle. When she entered the biopsy room she was so much worried but the nurse over there made her feel comfortable and explained the procedure. My aunt was so much relieved then. After the biopsy, she was given the right lateral position to prevent bleeding and truly she was feeling comfortable in that position and her stress of the procedure to be undergone had released.
