The Mughal Empire was established by Babur in 1526 CE. He defeated the Delhi Sultan, Ibrahim Lodhi in the First Battle of Panipat on April 21, 1526. His grandson Akbar became one of the greatest rulers to rule the Indian subcontinent. The Mughal Dynasty lasted from 1526 to 1857.
