Ida B. Wells is a figure staked in history as she was amongst the earliest leaders of the civil rights movement. She co-founded the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in the year, 1909, and it functioned as a civil rights organization in the United States of America. She was also an educator and an investigative journalist, and it would be safe to say that she became, arguably, the most famous black woman in the U.S.A. during the Progressive Era.
