Expert Solution
Question no-8

Biology homework question answer, step 1, image 18. C.Gene conversation

Frame shift mutation mainly occurred through the process replication. This mutation involves either insertion or deletion of extra bases of DNA. Genetic codon is made up of 3 bases.  When a base in a frame is missing or extra base found , a new reading frame will be produced. As a result new codon will be formed.  As a result mRNA will synthesis a new protein which is not required in that position.  If this codon converts to a stop codon then the protein length will be short and mostly non-functional.
