KD (Dissociation constant) is the amount of ligand molecules that is required to fill the binding sites of half of the receptors. Thus, a low KD value indicates that there is high affinity between the ligand and receptor. Ki measures the affinity of inhibitor molecule for the enzyme. It measures the affinity by measuring the inhibitor concentration that is required to produce half of the maximum inhibition. Thus, a low Ki value indicates a high affinity between enzyme and inhibitor.
