Name: _____________________________ Data Analysis Proposal Fall 2023 8 points Due: November 2 nd (and at least one week before you turn in your t-test project)’ Extra Bonus Point (+1) for submission by October 27th This worksheet will facilitate working out most of the details of your project. Refer to it after I’ve graded it while writing up your t-test result paragraph. Research Question (with Independent and Dependent Variable): ( 1 point ) A professor wants to know if two different studying techniques will lead to different exam scores. (Spaced and retrieval method) Prediction: ( 1 point ) Those who students who the “retrieval method” are more likely to score better How will I define the dependent variable (e.g., operational definition): ( 1 point ) It can be measured by the scores that will be evaluated What will be the samples or groups/levels of the independent variable and what is the IV? ( 2 points ) There will be a group of 10 students doing the “spaced method” and another 10 doing the “retrieval method”. Then each student will take the same exam. If behavior modification, on what day and date will I begin recording my data? What will be the dates for the baseline period and what will be the dates for the improvement period? Note : You must have at least 14 days for each time-period. If data gathering, what will be my source of information? (e.g., census.gov; https://www.wunderground.com/history/ ) ( 0.5 point ) My source of gathering will be a google form with questions about how the whole research process was for each student being evaluated and how they felt towards the exam and of course the exam scores themselves.
