Report
Respond to at least two colleagues by providing respectful feedback on their chosen design for their single-subject design study with their client. Identify one benefit or drawback of the approach they have identified and explain why. Hey Elsie, Why do you think the ABC design is the best for Tiffani? The behavior or outcome that we expect may change due to the treatment of the dependent variable in a single- subject research design. The dependent variable is measured repeatedly during two distinct phases: the baseline stage and the treatment stage . The baseline stage is where one measures the starting point. In the treatment/intervention stage, one gives the intervention and then does new measurements. A limitation of ABC design is they cannot be used to generalize something or be used clinically, the subject may be too small to be used broadly. Another limitation would be the lack of external validity. A strength of the single-subject design is that it can be used with one specific client to decide on their treatment. Another strength would be the cost, it is a cheaper research study if there is only one subject to focus on. Davis, M., Graf, G., Hoefer, R., LaBrenz, C., Lee, K., Mitschke, D., Murphy, E.
