Describe current interventions within your community for criminal justice/community violence problems. Discuss what demographics are associated with the situation. The Department of Justice (DOJ) presented a comprehensive plan to reduce crime. The strategy is to have local police departments participate in Crime Reduction programs. The committees of the program make initiatives to reduce crime in their jurisdictions. The programs are given grants to fund the initiatives.. Usdoj.gov (2023) says the projects are distinct to the area of the committees. Each neighborhood has different needs when it comes to crime. The DOJ provided the community with the money to engage law enforcement, academia, and non-profits in crime prevention. This hands-on approach to combatting violence can deliver unique responses to crime in the area. These efforts help reduce crime in many areas. President Biden broadcasted his Administration would start a Crime Intervention Collaborative. The goal of this collaboration is to reduce violent crime nationwide.
