Why Water? - Water is a necessary resource for all living things on Earth. - The water demand is rising as the world's population continues to rise and the consequences of climate change become more noticeable. - This emphasizes how important it is to have sustainable water management techniques.
Harmful Chemicals - Several potential causes of contamination exist which include sewage discharges - minerals, and compounds that are found in nature - regional land use patterns production procedures and faulty on-site wastewater treatment facilities

Eutrophication - Eutrophication is also a result of atmospheric nitrogen sources. In the atmosphere, nitrogen is released by fossil fuels and fertilizers. - Through the water cycle—rain and snow—this atmospheric nitrogen is subsequently redeposited on land and in water. - Eutrophic events have increased as a result of rapid advances in intensive farming practices, industrial activities, and population development.
Sustainability? - PFAS are also known as everlasting chemicals and have been related to harmful health impacts in both humans and wildlife. -techniques can be expensive, ineffective, and produce secondary pollutants in order to fully remove PFAS and other chemicals Tackling “Forever chemicals” in the water supply . (2023, January 19). Public Policy Institute of California. https://www.ppic.org/blog/tackling-forever-chemicals-in-the-water-supply/
New Research - Researchers have discovered a way to extract PFAS from water and then quickly reintroduce them. This eliminates the need to burn the filter immediately and allows for the collection, targeted examination, and destruction of the fluorinated materials.

Environmental Activists - Get health-harming toxics out of everyday products; - Protect our water from dirty energy threats - drilling and fracking for oil and gas, and power plant pollution; - Build a future of clean water and clean energy; - Keep our clean water laws strong and effective to protect water and health.
What Can You Do? - Energy Efficient appliances - Zero water filter - Filters on your water spouts - Talk with your elected officials on how they are changing the way we look at water
