Nicole Liggiero SOC 318 Milestone 2 Outline January 28, 2024
I have chosen to do my report on water resources. Water is a necessary resource for all living things on Earth. The water demand is rising as the world's population continues to rise and the consequences of climate change become more noticeable (Brears, 2023). This emphasizes how important it is to have sustainable water management techniques. The water demand is rising noticeably as a result of both climate change and ongoing population growth. Simultaneously, droughts, floods, and other water-related problems are happening more frequently as a result of changes in the water cycle. New approaches to water management are needed to solve these issues and fulfill the increasing water demand. To guarantee the effective and sustainable utilization of water resources, a variety of tactics must be implemented (Brears, 2023). As water demand rises we think about the toxic chemicals that are found in our everyday drinking water. Town governments all over have been trying to find a way to take these toxic chemicals out of our drinking water. To guarantee sustainable water access and long-term resilience in a changing environment, it is imperative to embrace cutting-edge water management practices including rainwater collecting, desalination, greywater recycling, aquifer recharge, and water reuse ( Brears, 2023). Intro: 1. Harmful chemicals are found in our drinking water. - Where did they come from? - What are we going to do? - Eutrophication Next: 1. PFAS
- In the bloodstream - Found in our water cycle - Now being found inside plastic water bottles Also: 1. How can we sustainably take these chemicals out of the water without using different chemicals? 2. Scientists have already started the process of research and development 3. Environmental activism is teaching people how dirty the water we drink every day is. 4. What can people do to make sure their water is safe? 5. Human Impact 6. Potential Solutions
