2 Goal Setting At the beginning of the session, Dr. Lenore, Walker introduced herself to the client as a psychologist and mentioned she’s from Denver Colorado. Within the 28:37 timestamp of the session, Dr. Walker asked the client if she’s married now. 28:40 timestamp of the session the client responded no, I’m going through a divorce and it’s almost final, and quite happy about it. 28:53 timestamp of the session the client continues to explain how the divorce is not so painful anymore. Focusing the counseling session By the 29:10 timestamp of the session, the client explained she was unhappy in the marriage. 29:20 timestamp of the session the client stated she can’t keep going around in a circle in the marriage. 29:33 timestamps of the session Dr. Walker asked the client if she was abused. 29:34 timestamps of the session the client answered yes. 29:36 timestamps of the session Dr. Walker asked physically, mentally, and sexually. She continued saying they were still sharing the same bed and they needed to talk she couldn’t sit on problems. 32:25 timestamps of the session the client continued explaining one day she decided she had to talk, and he had to listen to her. He avoided her by going to different rooms in the house and she followed him, and he continued to refuse. 32:47 timestamps of the session the client continued by stating she was so frustrated that at one point she took her hands and said to him can’t you just listen to me? 33:00 timestamps of the session the client said he put his hands around her neck pushed her against the wall and continued to push her down the stairs. Dr. Walker was very focused on listening to the client, she did a lot of nodding and gave the client space to talk. Facilitating a therapeutic environment through The Hippocratic oath Dr. Walker did an outstanding job as the counselor. She showed she cared for her client's feelings and understood the client's experience. She didn't judge or blame her client not once during the session. Prioritizing your client's feelings is essential in counseling, and Dr. Walker applied all of them.

4 Unconditional positive regard 28:44 timestamp of the session the client stated she was going through a divorce and happy about it when Dr. Walker asked her if she was married. Dr. Walker showed support and positivity at the 28:46 timestamp of the session by stating okay, I figured since you’re in your pro-woman stage. Acceptance of the client as they are As evidence, Dr. Walker maintained a positive attitude throughout the session. She developed rapport and trust with the client and encouraged collaboration. Respect for the client as they are Throughout the session, Dr. Walker showed the client respect by listening to all she had to say. She smiled when the client smiled. She did not make the client uncomfortable and did not judge her by what she experienced. Instead, Dr. Walker showed kindness in your voice and was very relaxed, which made the client feel at ease and open throughout the counseling session.
