Assignment 7.3 Interview Questions Reflection 1. How can you justify the need for the new organization? What will work? How I would justify the need for the new organization is that the community is always changing and it’s very dynamic so that means working with others to make a change in the community benefits a lot of people not just one or a few people. The need for a new organization means that there’s a need for the people in the community. This organization is helping individuals who struggle with mental health and teaching them the importance of maintaining healthy lifestyles and providing interventions and techniques working alongside other programs or organizations such as schools, CPS, food banks, hospitals, and other agencies. In a way this work in connecting the community and helping different populations due to the varied of agencies that work with this organization. The organization works with clients with behavioral issues and families who are financially in need so there’s this wide range of services that the organization provides for the families in the community. 2. What will not work? Something that wouldn’t or like a community planner would have trouble with is balancing work and his personal life. There’s also a stigma which the organization faces about mental health which mentally ill people are “crazy”, so in return other people wouldn’t want to participate getting services in a mental health clinic due to that stigma even though they are sometimes required by law or other organizations that referred them to a mental health clinic. This is a disadvantage and a problem because people are either not aware of the services that are available for them in the community or do not want to get them because they are embarrassed that they may need help from others and there’s this feeling of pride or sense of doing things themselves

which they don’t want help from others basically, so it’s hard to reach people who have that and may need to referred to services due to whatever needs they have at the moment. 3. How can you overcome this? I can overcome this by spreading awareness on how mental health is important as physical health because the mind greatly affects the body as well. It’s mostly trying to reach out to the community and the family in need. This good when working alongside school districts and such which working alongside other agencies can help in knowing what individuals are in need for mental health services and other related services. 4. What would you do differently? What I would do differently is that I would use whatever resources I have and follow whatever are the organization’s guidelines to promote more the types of services that the organization has to the community. 5. What would you do implement improvements? What I would do to implement improvements is that I would collect data in our effectiveness of our services and report it monthly like what’s working and what are some things that need improvement this can be like surveys for the clients and also for the social workers that are working for the organization. And last: what did you learned from writing the group assignment, evaluate the interaction between your classmates, communicate with your instructor about how this experience and readings, helped shape your understanding of class-related material. Any personal experiences that connect with the subject matter.

What I learned from writing the group assignment is that we must make time so that we are all doing the same amount of workload. We must also be kind and compassionate over our classmates because they also got other things going on in their lives such as their family and jobs so we must learn how to work together to get group assignments done on time. From the readings, quizzes, and discussion posts, I learned a lot of content and it made me so much more aware of how social work plays a huge role in the community and the way that it’s used here in the United States where the economy and politics basically the business side of social work can kind of show dilemmas in the way that some organizations run and also how in the U.S the way corporations are run as well.
