Career Connect 2 Introduction: In this essay, I will present an activity designed to help at-risk teens living in a group home learn about a culture that is not the dominant group within their geographic area. To create this activity, I will first examine the racial breakdown of the city or town in which I live or work. Subsequently, I will propose an engaging and educational activity that fosters cultural awareness, sensitivity, and respect for diversity. The chosen activity focuses on introducing the teens to Chinese culture, allowing them to explore various aspects such as food, holidays, music, and arts. Furthermore, I will analyze how this activity could be modified for working with elementary school children with developmental disabilities and elderly individuals residing in a nursing home.
