Arianna's Case Arianna’s Case Kristen Pitts HUSS225 J. Mosley 01/27/2024 In this situation, I see a 13-year-old who is not just acting out, but also losing control. These rising concerns might be the result of having no contact with her birth parents and living
Arianna's Case alone with her grandmother, siblings, and aunt. In other words, the lack of a special bond with her parents is prompting this young teen to act out. I find it concerning that she would prefer to live with friends than her grandma. Her grandmother's concern that she would become a "drug addict" like her mother may potentially be driving her to try. The grandma should not be thinking or saying such. Arianna's ability to live a regular life is hampered by violent behavior and a lack of sufficient supervision. All of this leads me to assume Arianna is suffering from a mental health issue. Arianna's drug and alcohol usage is one of the specific requirements that must be addressed. Why does she use it? Also, how her grandma treats her in general. She claims her grandma does not know where she is half the time, and she prefers to live with her friends to where she is now; there must be a reason. Another thing her grandma says is that she will end up like her mother, a "drug addict". These are issues that a counselor and potentially children and youth services should investigate to decide her true living circumstances. Another need is for someone to conduct an interview and evaluate how the grandma treats her. Adrianna going to counseling may help her talk about and get through the challenges she is dealing with. Trusting her counselor, she may explain why she prefers to live with friends rather than her grandma. The counselor may also be able to decide why she is so furious and beating others. Also, the use of alcohol and drugs. Given that her mother is a "drug addict," her counselor should inquire about her experimenting and decide why she opted to take these substances. She might be trying to dull anything going on in her mind. The counselor may want to try to talk to her about the lack of communication between her biological parents, since I am sure it is playing a significant role in her mental health. A psychiatric assessment with a doctor is also advisable. She may be suffering from a condition
Arianna's Case that needs medicine for her to function daily and feel confident in herself Children and Youth should pay a visit to the house and question the grandmother, siblings, and aunt to find out why Arianna believes she would be better off living with friends but will just stay there. I believe she will receive help from counseling since it will provide her with a secure environment in which to express any issues she may be experiencing. A counselor can give Arianna a variety of coping skills that she may need. Her counselor will help her overcome any issues that caused her to try alcohol or marijuana. Because she beat someone up, she may have anger issues, which her counselor may be able to help via coping skills or by recommending anger management group therapy. Services for children and youth may also be effective. They have been educated to spot signs of abuse or neglect. Arianna's preference for living with friends over her family must have an underlying explanation. A psychiatrist's assessment will also be good; she may be suffering from a mental health condition that requires medicine to improve. Depending on the amount of her drug usage, I do not believe she requires a drug rehabilitation stay; but, having her undergo drug and alcohol therapy would be beneficial, as they may provide her with coping strategies and addiction facts.
