Final Research Study Introduction The research question is: what is the importance of taking dinner to you and your family? The research was done on eighteen adults using a questionnaire. Dinner can be defined as a meal that is usually taken in the evening, even though the exact time may vary according to cultural or personal preferences. It can be the main meal of the day and may contain numerous dishes such as fish, meat, vegetables, grains, and sometimes a dessert. Most families take dinner together and can be a way of socializing, celebrating, or just satisfying hunger. Research Methods This study involved interviewing 18 individuals with the help of a questionnaire. The participants were recruited using snow ball sampling. Snowball sampling can be defined as a non-probability sampling approach used in research, where the study subjects are recruited based on referrals or recommendations from other study subjects (Parker et al., 2019). This method is often used when the target population is difficult to access or locate, and is commonly used in qualitative research studies. When recruiting the participants, the researcher started by identifying a few individuals who fit the criteria for the study and asked them to identify others who may also be suitable for the study. These newly identified individuals were then asked to refer others, and the process continued until the desired sample size was reached. The following questions were utilized to gather the information from the participants: 1. Is eating dinner important in your family? If yes, how? If not, why? 2. Do you eat dinner together? 3. What time do you eat dinner? 4. What do you eat for dinner?
5. Where you mainly take dinner? 6. Is dinner the only meal of the day? 7. How long before dinner or after dinner you do your workout? 8. What is your gender? 9. What is your age? 10. What macronutrients do you use more in your dinner? Results The following are the results of the study that was done on eighteen individuals: Results Person Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 Q5 Q6 Q7 Q8 Q9 Q10 1 Yes, it is a lifestyle Yes 7:00 PM Chicken and veggies Home No 1 hr Before Female29 Protein and carbs 2 Yes, No reason No 8:00 PM Pasta Home No 1 hr Before Male 50 Carbs 3 Yes, it is important to the body Yes 6:30 PM Fish and rice Home No After Female38 Protein and carbs 4 No, To manage weight N/A N/A N/A N/A N/A N/A Male 35 N/A 5 Yes, Brings us together Yes 7:00 PM Grilled chicken and salad Home No After Female23 Protein and veggies 6 Yes, Lifestyle Yes 7:00 PM Meat and potatoes Home No After Male 55 Protein and fat

Figure 1 demonstrates the individuals who take supper. It was found that 11 individuals agreed that they do take supper, and five individuals stated that they do not take supper for various reasons. Figure 2 demonstrates where the persons take supper. It was found that most of the participants take their supper at home. The N/A indicates that the individual did not answer the question because they said that they do not take supper. Figure 3 demonstrates the gender of the participants. It was found that the participants had a balanced gender comprising of nine males and nine females. Conclusions The findings of this research revealed that most individuals (72%) do take dinner and they value it as an important meal. Individuals who said that they do not take dinner gave the reason that they do it intentionally to manage their weight. It was also found that the study population comprised of equal gender of both males and females. The research also revealed that the macronutrients used more in the dinner were proteins and carbs. The study aimed to understand the importance of dinner for individuals and their families. The study was conducted

with 18 adults using a questionnaire. The results showed that most of the participants agreed that eating dinner is important for them and their families. Dinner is important for various reasons, from life choices, to keeping the family together, to being important to the body. Participants ate more dinners at home and consumed a variety of nutrients, with protein being the most abundant. A limitation of the research is the small sample size, which may not represent the larger population. Limitations Like any other research, this study had several limitations. One of the limitations of this research was that it was limited to 18 individuals only. Another limitation was that the participants were recruited using snowball sampling technique which may have some bias. Another limitation of this study was the assumption that the participants gave their honest opinions which were captured for every question. Future Research A future study needs to be conducted using more individuals to confirm the validity of the results. Other research methods can also be employed when conducting a future research. Recommendations According to the above results, further research employing a larger sample size is recommended to obtain more detailed results. Additionally, public health education needs to emphasize the importance of dinner in promoting family relationships and overall health. Health professionals should also recommend eating a dinner with enough protein, carbohydrates and vegetables. Families should be encouraged to eat dinner together to promote socialization and connection, which can improve mental health and overall well-being. Finally, policy makers
need to create an enabling environment that encourages families to eat dinner together by creating family time to eat together, particularly for working parents.
