As a black male/ female, how do you feel about the stereotype that African Americans are most likely to be combative and resist arrest? In the book Policing Black Bodies it examines ways in which Black Lives are disproportionately surveilled and police. It also mentions the discriminatory policies and systematic racism on how it contributes to the surveillance of Black communities. In your opinion does the surveillance of Black bodies interest with systemic racism and historical legacies? 3. During my research it was found that many communities are organizing and advocating for the African American community on the profiling and discriminatory policing. What strategies do you think activist and communities can do to challenge racial profiling and discriminating against African American? 4. The book Policing Black Bodies digs deep into surveillance of technologies as facial recognition starts discussing specific implications of the use of technology on Black lives privacy and civil liberties. How do surveillance technologies impact the African American Community differently? 5. Lastly, I read that individuals that have diverse backgrounds can actively support and promote the voices of Black activists and communities.
