Ephesians- Chapter Three March 15, 2015 Mary Porter What three scriptures impacted you and why are they important? 1. Ephesians 3:3 -How that by revelation he made know unto me the mystery; as I wrote afore in few words. 2. Ephesians 3:4 -Whereby when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ. 3. Ephesians 3:5 -6-Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his Holy Apostles and Prophets by the Spirit, that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body and partakers of His promise in Christ by the gospel. Paul wrote a letter to the Ephesian church that God had revealed to him concerning the gospel message of Christ briefly with only minimum words. The Apostle Paul wanted the “Church,” which is The Body of Christ to understand God’s grace and plan of salvation for everyone revealed to him by The Spirit of God. The plan of salvation is no longer a mystery as it was previously to the Jewish forefathers and nation. The “Gospel,” in its several parts consist of: predestination, election, redemption, regeneration, salvation and grace given by God to His people . (Eph. 3:3). Paul stated, all people would know the offer of God’s “grace” and plan of salvation which have been extended and given to everyone that believes. God’s salvation plan and gospel message of Christ also consist of: His grace, oneness, hope, privileges, and all promises obtained through faith in Christ Jesus. God’s plan included all believers (Jews and
Gentiles) to become one in Him, which is “His Body, His Church and His Bride.” Thus, no more separation but oneness by the grace and salvation plan of God. (Eph.3:4) . Cross References: (Rom. 16:25, Rom. 11:25, Mk.11:14, Rom. 12:3, Jn. 17:10-13) Paul mentioned that once this mystery was revealed to him, he shared this message with the Gentiles. Paul was excited because now all people (Jews and Gentiles) will have an opportunity to be one with God which is available by His grace. Paul emphasized that people of all races and cultures will become partakers and believers of this same gospel previously delivered and offered only to the Jews. Paul knew the Gentiles were not excluded from the grace and salvation plan of God. Paul is acknowledging that Jews and Gentiles will work together as fellow heirs, partakers and citizens of Heaven for the proclamation of the “Salvation” message of Christ’ gospel; formerly revealed only to the Holy Prophets and Apostles by the Spirit of God. Paul loved this revelation and mystery (salvation plan of God) because it afforded not only him, but other Believers to teach and preach the gospel of Christ and to become one in God. Thus, all Believers can be partakers and fellow heirs of this wonderful plan of salvation demonstrated by God’s love. (Eph. 5-6). Cross References: (Jn. 17:21-23, Isa 53, 1-13)
These particular passages of scriptures impacted and are important to me is because, God’s grace and plan of salvation has been extended to everyone. As Believers, we are no longer aliens, castaways or foreigners concerning God’s plan of salvation. In Ephesians 3:3-6, the verses impacted me because of God’s wondrous love, His amazing grace, His awesome power and salvation towards me. I am united and unified with other believers and most importantly, Christ Jesus. As I embrace and receive the impartation of “power and love of God” which is now operating and working in me; I can also proclaim, preach and teach the gospel message of Jesus Christ to those who aren’t believers.
