RLGN 104 G OSPEL I NTERVIEW T EMPLATE Part One Add Gospel Methods content below. Add a Reference, Works Cited, or Bibliography at the bottom of Part One based on the formatting style of your choice (APA, MLA, or Turabian). The two methods I will use to approach the gospel message is Method One: Personal Testimony. Sharing my personal experiences can be a powerful way to communicate the gospel. By sharing how my faith has impacted my life, I can connect with others on a personal level. I can talk about the moments when I encountered Jesus and the transformation I’ve experienced. Sharing specific instances where I felt the presence of God and how my relationship with Him has brought hope, peace, and purpose to my life. The second method is Teaching and Explaining Scripture. Using scriptures to communicate the gospel is another effective method. I can focus on passages like John 3:16, which highlights God’s love for the world and the gift of eternal life through Jesus. Another powerful scripture is Matthew 28:19-20, known as the Great Commission, where Jesus instructs his followers to go and make disciples of all nations. I can also explore parables and stories from the Bible, like the prodigal son or the good Samaritan, to illustrate important principles of forgiveness, compassion, and God’s grace. Page 1 of 4
RLGN 104 Part Two (The person I interview did not want to be recorded.) 1. What has been your religious upbringing? Did your parents, or those who raised you, have religious beliefs? If so, what did they believe and practice? “My parents did have religious beliefs and they raised me in a Christian household. We attended church regularly and they taught me about the teachings of Jesus and the importance of faith. It was a big part of our family life and shaped my understanding of spirituality. As I grew older, I also explored other perspectives and beliefs, but my upbringing laid a foundation for my understanding of Christianity.” 2. If you could ask God a question, what would you ask Him and Why? “If I could ask God a question, I would probably ask Him about the meaning of life. I’m curious to know His perspective on why we’re here and what our purpose is. It’s a big question that has fascinated humans for centuries, and I think it would be amazing to hear God’s insights on it.”   3. What has had the biggest impact on your current beliefs about God and Christianity? “The biggest impact on my current beliefs about God and Christianity has been a combination of personal experiences, conversations with others, and my own journey of self-discovery. I've had meaningful conversations with friends and family who have shared their perspectives and insights on faith. Additionally, exploring different religious texts and teachings has helped shape my understanding. Ultimately, it’s an ongoing process of learning and reflection that continues to shape my beliefs.”   4. What do believe regarding the Bible? “Regarding the Bible, I believe it is a sacred text that holds spiritual and moral teachings. It has been influential in shaping the beliefs and values of many people around the world. People interpret the Bible in different ways, Page 2 of 4
RLGN 104 and it can serve as a source of guidance, inspiration, and comfort. It’s important to approach the Bible with an open mind and respect for different perspectives.”   5. What do you believe about Jesus Christ? “I believe that Jesus Christ is an important figure in Christianity. According to Christian beliefs, Jesus is the Son of God and the Savior of humanity. His teachings of love, compassion, and forgiveness have had a profound impact on millions of people. Christians believe that Jesus sacrificed himself for the salvation of humanity and that through faith in him, one can have eternal life.”   6. Has someone ever shared with you how you could go to heaven? Explain their response. “Yes, I've had people share their beliefs on how to go to heaven. Some say it’s through accepting Jesus as your Savior and having faith in Him. Others emphasize living a good and moral life, treating others with kindness and love. There are different interpretations out there, but it ultimately depends on individual beliefs and religious teachings.”   7. What has been the greatest barrier to you becoming a follower of Jesus Christ? “I can say that the greatest barrier for me in becoming a follower of Jesus Christ was initially a lack of understanding. I had questions and doubts about certain aspects of faith, and it took some time for me to find answers and gain clarity. Once I delved deeper into studying and seeking guidance, those barriers started to crumble, and I found a stronger connection with my faith. It’s all about personal exploration and finding what resonates with you.”  8. If heaven exists, and you could go there, would you like to know how you can go to heaven? “Absolutely! If heaven exists and I had the opportunity to go there, I definitely want to know how to get there. It would be incredible to have a clear understanding of what it takes to reach such a beautiful and peaceful place. The idea of eternal happiness and being reunited with loved ones is truly captivating.” 9. If not, Why? 10. If they want to know how to go to heaven, share the gospel using one of the methods you shared in Part One or a method in which you are comfortable (This is optional but encouraged). 11. What happened? Page 3 of 4
