A Biblical worldview is a comprehensive lens through which individuals interpret and understand the world around them. Rooted in the teachings of the Bible, this perspective shapes beliefs, values, and actions, providing a framework for navigating life's complexities. This essay explores the critical components of a Biblical worldview and its implications for personal, societal, and ethical considerations.
Having a biblical worldview means one believes the word of God is the final authority. The Bible is the founding doctrine upon which Christ's followers live their lives. Learning here at Liberty University gives students a unique ability to study while drawing close to Christ. This ability is a part of the mission of Training Champions for Christ. In addition to attaining a solid education study as part of the mission, LU develops character and faith. It is this both moral and educational approach to learning that develops professionals and believers.
Purpose is a very critical component of why we do what we do. This aspect of life gives us the drive to stay consistent. A biblical worldview gives us the foundation to develop the skills needed to draw closer to Christ to be that beacon of light. For individuals who adhere to a biblical worldview, their beliefs stem from the teachings and principles found in the Bible. Some
include moral framework, divine purpose, service of others, relationships, community, and eternal perspective. This framework also speaks to one's goals—stewardship, resilience in adversity, and ethical decision-making.
What is culture? Culture refers to the beliefs, customs, traditions, language, arts, norms, and values a group shares. It encompasses the way of life of a society, including its social and political structures, religion, cuisine, clothing, and rituals. Culture is transmitted from one generation to another through various means, such as communication, observation, and socialization. It plays a crucial role in shaping individual identities, behaviors, and perspectives and influencing how communities interact with each other and the world around them.
Culture is dynamic and continuously evolving, influenced by historical events, technological advancements, globalization, and interactions with other cultures. As stated in the video, the unity of the spirit will help us overcome our cultural differences. This unity is coming together, putting aside differences, and moving forward cohesively. So, we can go worldwide, spreading the gospel of our risen savior. Using cultural differences to help unite us brings us closer to one faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ—things like active listening, empathy, clear communication, positive reinforcements, and building trust.
Through the textbook reading, videos, and assignments, I gained a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives, challenging my preconceptions. I realized the importance of empathy in navigating global issues and acknowledging the complexity of differing worldviews. This experience has broadened my outlook and emphasized the need for open-mindedness in fostering
a more inclusive worldview.
