Explain how instructional strategy you choose will help meet the lesson’s objectives. Be sure to explain how it will be used, when, etc.
For this lesson, the students will demonstrate their mastery of the objectives by completing a foldable graphic organizer that will require them to fold a sheet of paper in half and cut the top flap into 6 parts. On each part, they will label the 6 major world religions and underneath define/explain the religions. On the back of the foldable, they will state the similarities and differences between the religions.
Prior to the lesson, I will have the students play a game of Kahoot to review and test their knowledge on the 6 major world religions. After playing the game of Kahoot, the students will begin on their graphic organizers.
The students will work independently to create their graphic organizers using all the
materials that are provided to them. As they complete their graphic organizers, I will walk around the room and assist any students who need help. The students will have the rest of the class period to complete the graphic organizers.
Once they are finished and class is over, the students will turn in their graphic organizers to me as they exit the class.
I will use the completed graphic organizers as a formative assessment.
