Sharing the Gospel Essay Isabel Cruz Esquivel Grand Canyon University CCN 601: Biblical Foundations for Counselors: The Story of God Instructor’s Name Melisa Wood October 5, 2022
Sharing the Gospel Essay To share the gospel can be simple and complex because of everything that embodies the gospel and the benefits that can bring awareness and understanding of the gospel. The gospel involves awareness of God, and your faith, love and care for all those who are around you and believe in God as well. However, the gospel must be share with precaution and understanding that each individual has the right to believe in something different if they choose to do so. The purpose of this essay is to share the gospel on counseling and the influence that others can cause on you by sharing their view about the gospel and the impact that the gospel can have on someone’s life. Sharing the gospel can be complicated because the most important thing to keep in mind while choosing to or not to share the gospel for your counseling process and healing process is that the gospel can cause a big impact on those who are ready to listen to it and those who do not want to hear about it can affect them as well in a negative way because they might feel that the counselor does not respect them as individuals and their personal beliefs (Johnson, 2016). To explain and share with someone something that it is untouchable, unintelligible from the beginning it is not easy to explain specially in a counseling setting where the client is facing all these hardships and obstacles questioning everything and trying to understand why all these things are happening to him/her when she/ he has always believed in God and do things right while trying to find the right path (Johnson, 2016). In the case of someone who does not believe in God who has different believes how can you explain and share the gospel and talk about something that cannot be seen or touch the task takes more patience, skills and understanding for both parts.
The best approach is to share the gospel in a Christianity point of view and perspective is to come from understanding of the basic belief of Christianity and everything that involves being a Christian while taking in consideration your client beliefs, background and everything that the counselor finds relevant to show sensitivity, understanding and respect toward the client beliefs (Siess, 1969). There are different steps to take before you decide to share the gospel, and the most important thing to keep in mind is that the client would be beneficiated from sharing the gospel. The client that you choose to share the gospel with has to be a client who you have spoken about God before and as a counselor you can determine that the client would be open to learning and exploring more about God, faith, love, compassion and understanding about God and the role that God plays and could play in his/her life (Johnson, 2016). However, the counselor has not previously shared the gospel with the client because it was not the right to share it. However, the client might feel lost due to a current situation and circumstances in her/his life and could be asking and needing to talk with someone, hope, and a light at the end of the tunnel. This could lead to a conversation where the counselor can open about the gospel because through learning about the gospel the client could find what need at that moment to overcome it. Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ is important duty and task for all those who believe in God because that helps to spread the word of God and more people are able to be aware and learned about the gospel. Evangelism still means awareness of God and that God chooses to build his church this means that to be able to share the gospel you must recognize the needs of those with whom they choose to share and the ability to meet them at their level spiritually, socially, and culturally (Johnson, 2016). Christians must take the time to learn and understand

the importance of sharing the good news with integrity and be prepared to share God’s truth in way that it would cause impact and be more effective. Each group of individuals that you choose to share the gospel must be treating in a distinctively way while taking in consideration their age, gender, beliefs, values and more. Each of these groups would come with different challenges, so it important to develop different strategies to address the needs of all those different groups. The discussion with my classmates about the gospel did influence my position because I was able to put things in a different perspective and see where my classmates were coming from when they share their view about sharing the gospel. The gospel can help people to understand more about the love that God has for all of us and that God has always tried to find different ways to show us his love, care, kindness, compassion, forgiveness and understanding even in those difficult and hard time where it might seem like God has abandoned you (Siess, 1969). One thing you can be sure is that God is always with you and never leaves your side, and all you have to do is open your mind and heart to let him in and through the gospel you would be able to do that. The gospel has changes lives of so many people and by you choosing to share the gospel could make the difference in more people lives. The gospel would be able to help is the most beautiful message from God full of hope, love, kindness, compassion, empathy that everyone should be able to hear it. However, as a counselor you have to keep in mind that not every individual belief in God and those who do not believe in him cannot be force to believe in him.
