Old Testament Essay I
The reality in these worlds and for Christians and that Satan is constantly trying to find a
way to poke us and for us to fall in temptation to test our faith in God. Satan would want to find
human beings weaknesses and used it against us to find way to pull human beings apart from
God. God from the beginning of time has made promises and God has never fail to accomplished
and keep those promises for those who place their faith and believe in God.
The purpose of this
essay is to share God promises and how those promises could help people who are struggling
with depression and anxiety.
God has many promises throughout the Bible for a client who is suffering from
depression or anxiety God made several promises for those who were suffering and struggling
with depression and anxiety and God would help to relieve it by placing their faith in God’s word
(Wolters, 2005).
God from the beginning emphasizes that human beings can expect a world full
of challenges, obstacles, suffering, pain and trials where the faith, love, and care for others and
God would be tested for humans being to assure and keep believing in God through all that
because God will have a plan for them. Gods promises include James 1:2-3 “When you face
trials in your life of different kinds remember that testing your faith produces perseverance and
endurance” (Knobnya, 2011). This means that someone who is dealing with anxiety due to
different circumstances and situation in their life are temporary and God is with them to help
them and guide them through it, so they will come out stronger from it by placing their faith in
God knowing that God would not put them through something that they are not able to handle.
Isaiah 26:3 “you will keep your mind in peace because you place your trust in God” (Knobnya,
2011).
This can be use in the situation where someone is struggling with anxiety because those
feel anxious and scared of the unknown, but by placing their trust in God they would find peace
of mind and able to deal with their anxiety in a better way. God will always be there to lift you
up Isaiah 41:10 “do not fear because God is with you do not be discouraged God will give you
the strength, courage and help you and will support you though anything” (Knobnya, 2011).
For
example, in the case of someone struggling with depression this promise that God will always lift
you up would be the most adequate biblical message to support them and give them strength to
push through it and seek the help and support that they need to overcome these and improve their
lives. God promises through the Bible provide support and give hope to those who are facing
different trials in their lives where they need support to strengthen their faith in the word of God
to guide them through those trials and stay stronger knowing that God will help them and be
there for them.
