1. What is the role of the church in Pacific Communities? Use examples and/or quotes from the panel members. Be sure to indicate who said what. The role of the church in Pacific Communities is the "spiritual house and the village." The church is culture for all people. "The church feeds the people with the spiritual lives... understanding the love..." Mentions what the church is about, " the relationship with Jesus. Raising the young leaders of tomorrow." The church also says, "Provides them with a community focus - community can go to gather - family ties - habitual, safe place." Another claim was, "it's like a halfway house for people to fit in, how society is working." 1. What is the future of the church; can Christianity and aboriginal beliefs be combined? Use examples and/or quotes from the panel members. Be sure to indicate who said what. "The church is heading to teach the people who Jesus Christ is" The church is moving from a traditional church to a more free way of praise. Mentioned in the video was, "It's the way of people doing church, but the true church will still stand." About combined beliefs, "no, I don't think you can believe in both. We can't get rid of our concepts." "When Christianity arrived in the islands people had already had their spiritual lives, they were already worshiping the gods." Adding to being religious, "It's about having a good behavior and that you are honest, not what spirituality you believe in." The concept is, "bring back the relationship with Jesus in the church."
