WRSP 101 Page 1 of 2 R EADING R EFLECTION J OURNAL : W HAT J ESUS S AID A BOUT W ORSHIP T EMPLATE Based on John MacArthur’s Book , Worship: The Ultimate Priority, Chapters 9-12 Noteable Quote: “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you?” Citation: John F. MacArthur, Worship: The Ultimate Priority, Chicago: Moddy Publishers, 2012, ch. 10. Bibliography: MacArthur, John F. Worship: The Ultimate Priority. Chicago, Moddy Publishers, 2012 Main Points: Chapter 9: We should follow the divine appointment God has for our lives. Chapter 10: God reminds us that the building we worship in is not the church we are because of God’s Holy Spirit that is in us. Chapter 11: We cannot worship God without worship Jesus because they are one. Chapter 12: To be a true worshipper, you must die in the flesh and become a new man in God. Reflection on the Reading: I agreed with the author’s position, and I feel he brought out some good points. Worshiping God is not just in a church building, but we can worship him anywhere because he lives in us. God gives us a divine appointment when it comes to worship. When you have Jesus in your life, you can truly worship God and begin to understand his well.
WRSP 101 Page 2 of 2 The principles of worship I feel God taught me through this reading is that worship is not just in the church building, but it is wherever we are because of the Holy Spirit that is within us. God has a divine purpose for our lives, and it is up to us to follow his will. He also taught me that to be a true worshipper, you must die to the flesh and being open to the Spirit. The actions I feel God would have me take to apply these principles to my public and private worship is to focus on the purpose he has for my life and to share it with others. God wants us to worship with our whole hearts. He also wants us to have a pure temple so that he can dwell with us.
