Civic and Global Engagement/Diversity/Biblical Worldview Reflection 10/5/2020 UNIV101-B56
A worldview is something every person had whether they know it or not. A worldview is how someone perceives the world. A worldview can be changed because of a culture and can also change a culture. Cultures and worldviews are present in every environment. A biblical worldview is one that needs to be developed in every person. A biblical worldview is a worldview which your thoughts are based off of the word of God. A biblical worldview follows the directions and lessons in the bible. In order to gain and grow in a biblical worldview someone has to give up their previous worldview and then adopt the truth of the bible. Without abandoning your previous way of thinking and viewing the world there will be no room for a biblical way of thinking to enter. Without adopting the bible as truth you cannot begin to view the world through a biblical lens. To develop a worldview based on the bible one should spend more time studying the bible. The purpose of adopting a biblical worldview is to view the world how Jesus would. A biblical worldview is just a byproduct of accepting Jesus as your lord and savior. The worldview begins to form after you make the decision to allow Jesus to be the center of your life and then studying the bible and pressing into Jesus to grow in that way of thinking. By viewing the world in this way, we can change the cultural temperature of the environment. This is key to propelling ourselves and others closer to Jesus. A true Christian is passionate about Jesus and you can tell you’re passionate about something if you enjoy teaching others. A culture is the atmosphere a group of people create with traditions and other ways of living. Working with people from different backgrounds can help you better understand how to interact and share the gospel with others of that same background. By learning from others, we can incorporate them into our way of outreach. This is uplifting and developing other leaders while also engaging nonbelievers. That is the ideal way of engaging others because now everyone is being developed just at different points in their personal walk. A biblical worldview is so important for everyone to grow in and walk in. Everyone should be growing in some way towards a firmer lens from which to view the world from. Without a biblical worldview your worldview is just an opinion based off experiences in a very broken world.
