When Religious Rights was founded, the beliefs were based on traditional Biblical Christian worldviews. A worldview attempts to ask the big questions in life. Ferdon states, “A worldview consists of the most basic questions which life comprehends: What is the origin of man and the universe? What is the proper
method for knowing and understanding truth? What is the nature of value? How can meaning, purpose, and destiny be determined?” (Gai Ferdon, 2019, page 5). The core values of a Biblical Christian worldview are that God created everything, the Bible is truth, God holds the highest value, and God is the ultimate ruler. The other “lens” a person can look through is the Rationalistic Worldview which holds
the core values that there is a measurable force that created existence, that we know things by thinking or learning reasoning skills, and that humans hold the highest value. My worldview combines a blend of Biblical Christian worldviews and Rationalistic worldviews. I believe that God created everything including the highly debated “Big Bang”, the bible holds the truth and people decide how they interpret what is said through what is taught to them, God holds the highest value, and the kingdom of God is eternal once we finish the temporary life on Earth. Religious Rights were also founded on values that are
known today as more “conservative values” which can include but are not limited to opinions on homosexuality and pro-life vs pro-choice. They believed that the way you lived your life needed to match exactly as the Bible states or you were living incorrectly however, I believe that the beauty of God
is that he allows you to live your life the way you chose as long as the 10 commandments (Gods Law) are
followed. The Bible says, “
The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (New International Version, Mark 12:31). To me that means to love everyone regardless of how they live their life because only God has the authority to judge the way we live. References
