Saul Lopez Eternal Families December 12, 2019
Eternal Family Throughout the semester I will say this course has been my favorite religion class so far. Brother Remington did an amazing job with providing us knowledge and great experience in the course. I felt so much love and the holy spirit every time Brother Remington gave a lesson. There were some things I learned in the class and that were very important. Some of the impor-
tant things we talked about were eternal marriage, having faith, and following the command-
ments. Eternal marriage is very important because it is part of Heavenly Father’s plan for us as his children. It is a complete blessing that God gave us the ability to have a partner for eternity. As said in an April 2013, in a general conference, “Marriage is a gift from God to us; the quality of our marriages is a gift from us to him”. Our exaltation depends on marriage along with other principles and ordinances. As LDS members we believe marriage is the most sacred relationship that can exist between a man and a woman. It is our job to find a partner so that one day we will be able to form a strong family in which we will be eternally be together through temple sealing. Now the next important thing we talked about in class was faith. To me faith is so impor-
tant because with everything we do in life we must have faith. We must have faith in not only us,
but in Heavenly Father and his salvation. No matter what we go through we must always have
that things will get better. Heavenly Father is always looking out for us and making sure we are good. Ways we can show our Heavenly Father that we have faith in him is by following the com-
mandments and listening to the living prophet. The third thing we talked about in class that are important are the commandments. Some of us say we are lost or aren’t sure what God wants us to do. When in reality we have the com-
mandments we can follow. We all must obey the commandments, this will bring joy and peace to
every single one of us. As president Thomas S. Monson said, “
God
’s commandments are not given to frustrate us or to become obstacles to our happiness. Just the opposite is true. He who created us and who loves us perfectly knows just how we need to live our lives in order to obtain the greatest happiness possible. He has provided us with guidelines which, if we follow them, will see us safely through this often treacherous mortal journey
.
” Most importantly if we follow the commandments he has given us then we will be promised many blessings. We should not shy
away or get distracted from following the commandments. These are just three of the many important things we went over in class. We talked about the priesthood, baptism, repentance, etc. These were the three important topics that stood out to me the most. Throughout my time here on earth I will follow the righteous way in order to one day be in the celestial kingdom. I will pursue in trying to get a partner in which I can marry and get sealed in the temple. This is very important for me because I am the only member in my fam-
ily and family is a big deal to me. I want to one day have a family of my own and knowing the fact that I can forever be with my family is honestly a huge blessing to me. That is why faith to me is also important. I will continue to have faith not only in my myself, but faith in Heavenly Father and his plan for me. This also means to continue to have faith in my church leaders, the living prophet and the commandments, etc. I will stay true in following the commandments and
will continue to try to influence others in doing the right thing. I will forever be in service to those who need a bit of guidance. Overall I am so grateful for being able to take this course. Brother Remington did an amazing job with giving us his feedback and guidance to his knowledge of the Gospel. I would recommend for anyone to take his class. By far one of the best experiences I had with attending a
class. Works Cited Page
