NBST 520 New Testament Orientation II
Write a blog for your church website in which you discuss the Jewish setting & context of the early church as described by Luke in the early chapters of Acts. You are required to interact with the assigned presentations, “Pentecost and the Eschatological Setting of the Early Church in Acts,” and “The Jewish Setting of Early Christianity.” Be sure to provide specific examples from the early chapters of Acts of the church’s “Jewishness.” Explain why you think Luke went to such lengths to depict the early church as authentically Jewish.
Why is it important for Christians today to understand the Jewish roots of their faith?
Why was it vital for the people of God in the early age to preserve their “Jewishness”?
Ponder on the way the world is today. Blacks want to preserve their Africanness, and so does a lot of other nationalities. Jewishness was the common religion until Jesus arrives. Once e arrive Christianity began. In this new way of Christianity Jesus wanted you to come as you are. You must believe that your past has formulated you into who you are. This religion Christian was apposed because no one really new what it was it was new. People was being killed just like today time. I will say that because it was unknown people was fighting against it.

Acts, starts off with the followers of Christ sharing their thoughts on the mere present of Jesus
while they anticipate him coming again in their presence just like He said.

As we look at Acts Jesus appears. Listen to Luke, “ Don’t leave Jerusalem await the promise of the father.”

If you listen to the disciples they always referred to te people of God as Jews. They mention all of the traditions of the Jews that they lived by at first. Peter preached in a city that was constrained to
Jews. Christians believed in the same as the Jews like the “necessity of prayer, worship, and moral living in the presence of God”,

Jews even believed in Jesus death and resurrection.

The stuff that Christians carried into Christianity are vital just like it is vital to know where you are from and what you are build of. Like I tell my kids I tell you about my struggles so you will make new struggles. Judaism is the part of the very fabric of Christianity.
