Admin decided to take Mallory out of choir class for six weeks to prevent further bullying (Kausch, 2020). 2. Forcing Mallory to hug bullies Mitigation The school put it on Mallory to “fix” the situation, forcing her to hug her bullies. 3. Sending Mallory home Prevention On the day of her death, Mallory’s mom met with the principal and told her to take Mallory home because she was “not safe” and that he would “get in a lot of trouble” (Kausch, 2020). Stricter punishment for bullies Mitigation Provide stricter punishment for bullies. Having a 3- strike method first is a meeting with family, child, and principal, the second is a meeting and in- school suspension, and the third is a meeting an out-of-school suspension with a requirement of a therapy eval to return to school. 2. Report situations of bullying Prevention Holding teachers and other school employees accountable for reporting incidents of bullying. If an employee does not report an incident they should be terminated. Reinforcing this will help prevent further bullying as well as address those who do not see the importance of reporting it. 3. Regular meetings with school counselors Mitigation Allowing students to have regular meetings with their counselors that are mandatory to attend once a month. This will allow kids to be heard and feel
