16 Personalities Reflection Based on the 16 Personalities assessment, my results are that of an Assertive Consul (ESFJ-A). As one who is extraverted, observant, feeling, judging, and assertive, my role is one who is attentive and observant. Social communities are a place of peace and comfort, where having others around is an affirming experience. According to Connolly (2018), extraversion indicates one is more comfortable in a social environment. By comparison, introverts are more comfortable in familiar settings, are more reserved as communicators, and are more likely to appreciate alone time (Connolly, 2018). The introvert is more intuitive. Based on the personality results, my energy is more observational. It is important to make decisions based on data and facts. Thinking and feeling are coordinated prior to reaching a decision. As for tactics, the day is structured by setting goals and achieving results. A successful day is achieved when the goals align with the actual results, and there are favorable outcomes. Now, adapting can be a challenge, but my personality is one where there is the capacity to alter course, albeit a frustrating experience. Shifting to identity, I am assertive. According to Hollins (2017), the difference between one who is assertive against one who is turbulent is that the assertive individual is going to have a plan, where one with a turbulent personality is less structured. Academic work and achievement align with the results identified. Jobs and academic performance have come easy when there is a plan and connected goals. They are difficult when there is a level of procrastination, or putting off the project rather than planning it out in advance. In reflection, the Recipe for Success is going to be based on setting goals. At times, my emphasis needs to be on slowing down and taking the time to outline a process prior to moving forward
with action. Observing behavioral patterns of the self and others will lead to success (Hollins, 2017). As an assertive but observant individual, I am introduced to a proper way of completing tasks, and that is going to be a useful indicator of success moving forward in my academic setting, in my career environment, and in my social capacity to grow.
