In November 1965, he joined the United States Navy at the U. S. Naval Air Station, Sangley Point, Philippines few miles where he lives. He was sent to U.S. Naval Training Center in San Diego, CA. for sixteen-weeks Boot Camp Training. After graduating from NTC San Diego, CA. Rob Baja was assigned on the USS Fremont (APA-44) in Norfolk, Virginia as his first seagoing ship where he quickly demonstrated his competence and strong work ethic. His commitment to duty, leadership skills, and unwavering dedication to his fellow sailors caught the attention of this superiors. Over the years, Chief Baja worked his way up through the ranks, earning a reputation as a dependable and resourceful sailor. His skills in performing administrative and personnel department were particularly noteworthy. This earned him the respect of both his superiors and his peers. As Chief Baja advanced in his naval career, he was eventually promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer. This rank marked a significant achievement in his military journey, reflecting his commitment to excellence and his ability to lead with integrity. During his service in the Navy, Chief Petty Officer Baja was deployed to various locations, including deployments in support of operations during Cold War, and Vietnam. His leadership skills were put to the test during high-stress situations, and he consistently proved himself as a reliable and competent leader. His dedication to the Navy and his fellow sailors remained unwavering throughout the years, and he retired with honorable discharge from active duty as a highly respected and decorated veteran. After retiring from the U.S. Navy, Chief Petty Officer Baja continued to contribute to his community and country. He shared his experience and wisdom with the younger generation, mentoring and guiding them to succeed in their own journeys. He also participated in veteran’s organizations, advocating for the welfare of former service members and their families. Chief Petty Officer Baja life story is a testament to the values of dedication, sacrifice, and service. He is remembered not only for his outstanding military career but also for his enduring commitment to his country, his community, and his fellow veterans. His legacy serves as an inspiration to all who strive to make a positive impact through selfless service and unwavering dedication. From a young age, he exhibited a strong sense of discipline and a deep commitment to serving the great United States Navy. Growing up in a modest family, he learned the values of hard work, perseverance, and loyalty from his parents. These values would shape his future career in the United States Navy. He currently holds the position of National, Senior Vice President of Community Home Builders. Ralph travels a lot throughout the continental U.S. as well as overseas in Europe and Far East. His company built high ends housing throughout the United States. LCDR Ralph lives in Las Vegas, NV for over 2.5 years. His local branch office is in Las Vegas, NV where he reported to work on a daily basis where he continues to demonstrate leadership and commitment to making a difference in his community. Social Media Use Chief Petty Officer Baja, despite his rich and storied military career and busy life, has also embraced the digital age and uses social media platforms to stay connected with friends and family, as well as fellow veterans. He is a regular user of Facebook, where he shares his experiences, memories, and updates with his online community. Facebook provides him with a
5 platform to engage with a wide network of people, both those he served with in the Navy and those he has met throughout his life. His presence on social media platforms showcases his adaptability and willingness to embrace technology as a means to stay connected, share his experiences, and continue building relationships with those he has met throughout his journey.
