WEEK 1    Pinpointing results and behaviors: What does it mean to pinpoint a "SMART" behavior? According to DiNovi and Gavoni (2020), why is it important to pinpoint results and behaviors prior to setting goals? Pinpoint results and the behaviors you need to engage in that will allow you to be successful in the course. Describe each characteristic in a minimum of 250 words. Include a separate paragraph of your course goals for this class.  If we are to achieve goals, we must identify very specific or pinpointed behaviors that will get us to a very specific or pinpointed result. And if we are to solve problems preventing us from achieving goals, we must first pinpoint exactly what the root cause of the issue is to effectively overcome them and pinpoint critical behaviors that will lead to the pinpointed results (DiNovi, Gavoni, 2021, p. 53). To identify SMART behaviors, we require specific goals, measurable, attainable, relevant, and trackable, these need to be considered to have specific achievable behaviors.   Failure to establish SMART pinpoints related to both the outcome and the behavior required to achieve it is often at the root of the failure to achieve success (DiNovi, Gavoni, 2021, p. 61). When you can pinpoint behaviors and results prior to getting goals, you can see the behaviors and set goals for that specific behavior. For example, new year's we all have new year's resolutions from losing weight, to working out, etc., if you lose 1 pound does that fulfill your resolution? If you work out for 1 week does that mean you completed your goal for new year's? It is important to put more thought into it to achieve those goals.   Specific: you must be thoughtful about what the child and family or caregivers want to focus on. The goal should be clearly described, such as the skill the student is going to learn.  Measurable: Make the goal observable and measurable so that progress can continue to be monitored.   Achievable: Choose goals that are realistic and manageable  Relevant: Make sure the goal is something that aligns with the family vision (children)/adult and team. It should be unique to the client.   Trackable: Define the timeframe/target date to achieve the goal  SMART example: Drinking water for often not a SMART goal.  I will drink 16 ounces (about 473.18 ml) of water two times a day for 5 days a week. (This is measurable, achievable, trackable, specific to client, relevant so it will fall in SMART goal.)    My goals from the beginning of this course remain the same for the next course and the course after that.  I feel like I was able to achieve my goals of managing everything that’s on my plate and still have time to study and keep my scores increasing. Like always, there is always room for improvement. I couldn’t keep my goal from my previous course, which was Monday– Friday only school and work. Especially because it was during the holidays. My goal for this class is to continue learning all the terms and know how to apply them and know what scenarios that specific term is for. The main thing that I need to keep in mind is not to be rushed when doing assignments and to take my time, because if not I won't continue to see improvement. The only thing that would help me improve my scores I would say is giving more scenarios during the class so when it comes to tests, i learn best with examples. And If I have that I won't have to blankly stare at the question waiting for them to tell me the answer.
