PSY252 Lab Assignment <Z-test Lab> A researcher examined whether an iPhone app designed to train the brain improved intelligence among 20 volunteers who practiced with the iPhone app for one month. After one month, the volunteers completed an IQ test, which has a population mean of 100 and SD of 15. 1. Write the null and alternative hypotheses (directional) for this study both in symbols and in sentences. (2 points) H 0 : H 1 : 2. Define the critical region for this study using an alpha level of .05. Use a one-tailed test or a two-tailed test based on the above hypotheses. (1 point) 3. For your own unique Data Set, use JASP to generate descriptive statistics. Solve the formula for your z test statistic. Show the steps you take to complete the calculation. (1 point for descriptive statistics table, 2 points for z test calculation) 4. Using your Data Set, complete a z-test in JASP.
