Evidence-Based Professional Development – EDU 485 Prepare a slide deck that is shared with anyone who has the link (Google Slides presentation) that illustrates how you addressed a specific goal with your tutee, at least two research-based strategies you used consistently with the tutee to address this goal, the research base for the strategy, and progress the tutee made (including data), and conclusions and recommendations related to this goal. The audience for this project will be fellow classmates viewing the presentation through a teacher’s perspective of expanding his or her knowledge of effective intervention techniques. The presentation will be formatted as follows: First Slide: Student Name (pseudonym), Grade Level, Reading Goals One or Two Slides: Tutee Reading Difficulty Related to Goal: Describe the reading difficulty experienced by your tutee. Include formal and informal assessment data that provide evidence of the difficulty. Include the goals addressed in tutoring sessions. One Slide: Research-Based Strategy Description: List/Describe the research-based reading strategies you used with your tutee to address the reading difficulties. One or Two Slides: Research Base for Strategy: Present at least one research reference related to each of the strategies you used. One to Three Slides: Summary of Student Progress (including data): Show data for student progress related to the implementation of the research-based reading strategies. Use student work samples, graphs, charts, tables, or other artifacts to present the data. One to Two Slides: Conclusions and Recommendations: List major conclusions and recommendations for further work related to this goal with justification. One Slide: References for your research citations – in APA style
